Allentoff started working on independent films back during the summer of 2000 when a film crew came to his hometown to shoot My Best Friend's Wife, a direct to video release starring John Stamos, Daniel London, Jessica Walter and Meredith Salenger. Working as the assistant to the producers, he learned the ins and outs of filmmaking. In 2002, Allentoff co-wrote a screenplay with a friend from high school. That same year, he directed the film entitled Never Among Friends. It went on to win awards at various film festivals and had two sold out screenings in Red Bank, New Jersey.

In 2004, Allentoff became involved with Immortal Dog Productions run by his buddies Russell Hasenauer and Chad Newhall. In addition to producing several shorts for the web, along with Jonathan Tuckerman, Allentoff appeared as an actor in some comedy shorts that are now available on YouTube. Recently, Allentoff was interviewed for The Psycho Legacy Documentary on the Norman Bates film series thanks to his popular fan website.
